Sogent, Ghent's urban development company, plays a crucial role in the redevelopment of historic and urban sites. The iconic Cinema Rex near St. Peter's Station featured a box with false floors and walls that used to house a casino. This addition had to be carefully dismantled.
This was done with an eye for the historical structures so that the building could be given a new purpose. Our timelapse solution allowed both stakeholders and the general public to follow this transformation step by step.
We also capture indoor projects with little natural light perfectly. In Cinema Rex, it was important that we mounted our camera without damaging the existing structures. By placing the camera centrally in the grandstand, we were able to capture the precise process of dismantling in a unique way. The timelapse shows how the interior structure was carefully removed, revealing the historic cinema auditorium once again.

Bringing a historic building back to life - that's what we are proud to work on! This project perfectly illustrates how our timelapse technology details not only construction work, but also restorations and repurposing. We are already looking forward to the next phase and the repurposing of this iconic site. Find more public projects on the project page and on LinkedIn.
